News & Information for Tiger Families

Welcome to St. Teresa Catholic School!

Letter from the Principal

Tiger Families,

Thank you to all of our volunteers who helped make the Valentine's Day Party extra special. There was lots of laughter, goodies, and games throughout the building!

This Wednesday, February 22nd is Ash Wednesday. The office will be CLOSED during MASS from 8:30 - 9:30am, so that everyone may attend!

With next week the kick off to the Lenten Season, we challenge every family to participate in the 40 Lenten Activities for Catholic Families. Lent is such an important time for us as Catholics and what better way to share our faith then to participate in an activity together.

It's that time again.....Registration for 2023 - 2024 School Year

Registration forms will be coming home next week for the 2023-2024 school year. These forms are extremely important for the success of St. Teresa School. Please complete and return the 2023-2024 school registration form by March 10th along with the $100 registration fee.

This is just a reminder any individual who has not returned their forms or taken the Safe and Sacred Course through the Diocese by March 1, 2023 will be unable to volunteer or coach at St. Teresa School. This includes volunteers through Church also.

Please contact the school at 618-256-4066 to determine if you need to update or complete a form. The Diocese of Belleville requires many items to be renewed annually to biennial. Below you will also find the volunteer application, CANTS form, and the link to Safe and Sacred for your convenience.

Thank you for volunteering at St. Teresa School, we couldn't do it without our volunteers!

Have a wonderful weekend.

Sincerely,

Nicole Green

Principal

St. Teresa Alumni Spotlight

This past weekend, St. Teresa graduates, Nick Reed-Class of 2004 and Mel (Duncan) Lombardo-Class of 2005, led the annual Luke 18 Youth Retreat. Neither are strangers to Luke 18. Between the two, they have almost 35 years experience actively participating in this weekend long retreat-working their way up the ranks from Lukers, to Guardians, to Disciples, to Adult Leaders. Nick and Mel spent the past few months meeting with area high school and college kids, leading them through the retreat planning process, all for the sole purpose of igniting a flame in the souls of 6th, 7th, and 8th graders from not only St. Teresa but from surrounding grade schools as well.

Nick and Mel also were fortunate enough to have a Dream Team of former Tigers involved to assist them! Leah Riesenberger-2010 Christopher Dunn-2012, Maria Hamilton-2019, Emily Dunn-2019, Joseph Hamilton-2021, Isaac Riesenberger-2021, Jeremy Grime-2021, Taylor Burns-2022, and Sam Flynn gave up many a Sunday afternoon in order to create the skits, make posters/decorations, pen talks, and put together costumes! Their leadership, charisma, and hard work led to an unforgettable weekend, which combined both faith and fun!

Inclement Weather Plan

IS SCHOOL CLOSED?

Closure of St. Teresa School will be shared FIRST on the St. Teresa School website and on official St. Teresa social media within minutes of the decision.

For the 2022-2023 school year St. Teresa School will be following District 118 closure policy.

If District 118 is closed due to inclement weather, St. Teresa's will also be closed.

For the 2022-2023 school year there will be no "remote learning" days.

As children we all looked forward to the fun of a "snow day."

All "snow days" will be made up at the end of the 2022-2023 school year.
