Dear Parent, Caregivers, Students & Staff,
Summer greetings to you and your families. I have some information to share with you about our return to school for students on August 18. But first, let me say, we want our students connected with Berkeley County Schools (BCS). We care about our student’s health and well-being and we want to help all families adjust to the new school year.
Our BCS Advance Team, along with local and state officials, continue working through a host of scenarios for our return. We are watching and listening to what is happening in our state and around us, while taking into account the uniqueness of our county, especially when compared to districts in West Virginia.
I am hearing from many of you – thank you. I appreciate your thoughts, ideas and suggestions. For every email I receive that says I want my child to return, there is one who wants another option for their child. As a response, we are developing options for families to discuss and learn more about
In May, the BCS Virtual Pathway completed its third semester of distance learning. As a state leader in virtual learning, we are positioned to expand this rigorous opportunity for students in our district.
On behalf of our Advance Team, BCS staff, and your Board of Education, I thank you for your patience, confidence, and trust that the Covid-19 educational platforms that will be made available to your family will provide educational and life success for your student.
