Monthly Core Value: Courage
Students are expected to follow our Core Values here at EBCA. November's Core Value is Courage.
PBS mentions "Courage involves making good choices in the face of fear or obstacles. It’s another term for bravery. Remember: Bravery doesn’t mean fearlessness. It means we do not let fear hold us back from exploring new opportunities, developing our skills, and doing what is right."
Take time to talk to your student about courage. Below is a great read aloud of Susan Verde's I Am Courage book. Follow up by asking your student how they show or will work on showing courage.
Upcoming Events

National School Psychology Week (11/6 - 11/10)
Meet our School Psychologist, Mrs. Woodward!
This is Mrs. Woodward's first year with EBCA but her 14th year as a school psychologist. Mrs. Woodward's role as school psychologist varies greatly depending on our site's needs, but generally, she is involved with assessment for Special Education, services and support for SPED students, and serves as a team member for developing systems on school campuses. Mrs. Woodward's real passion for the field is helping students develop coping skills and supporting staff with challenging student behaviors. She loves sharing resources and is always available to collaborate on ideas that support student growth.
Fun Facts:
- She is a mom to 3 adult children, two of who serve in the military (Marine Corp. and the Navy).
- She is also a Grandma and mom to 7 dogs and cats that she actively shares about and photographs in her free time.
If parents have any questions, she can be contacted through email at v.wood@myebca.com.

Classroom Celebrations Policy
Food or Balloons of any kind may not be dropped off at school for class birthday celebrations. The main reasons for this are healthy nutrition and we have several students with a variety of food and latex allergies that we must monitor.
We will limit classroom celebrations to that last 30 minutes of the day for the following days:
- October 31 - Halloween (when it falls during the week Monday-Friday)
- November - Thanksgiving Break (last day before Thanksgiving break)
- December - Winter Break (last day before winter break)
- February 14 - Valentine’s Day (when it falls during the week Monday-Friday)
- June - last day of school
Keep in mind these are the only days allowed but grade levels will have the discretion to not participate if they feel it is a disruption to the learning process.
