Pumpkin Launching
Kicking Off Our MakerSpace!
The items that groups were given to build their device included: rubber bands, popsicle sticks, 2 feet of masking tape, and paper cups. Students began building this week and will finish and test their devices the week of November 7th!
Making a Plan Students sketched out their devices first, making a plan as a group. | Testing! As students planned their pumpkin launchers, they manipulated the materials to see how they could work. | Will It Fly? A group tests out their launcher with a paper plate target. |
Let's Build! Using their sketches, groups worked together to begin building their devices. | Teamwork 4th graders worked so well in groups to problem solve! | To Be Continued... Students will finish building their pumpkin launching devices and test them for accuracy next lesson week! |
