Rainbow Day! 🌈💙

Schools across the Limestone District School Board are recognizing Pride Week in Kingston, June 10-16, with a variety of events and activities.

On Thursday, June 13th, Southview will have a school wide Rainbow Day to promote diversity, acceptance and inclusion in our school in alignment with our positive school climate goals. We hope to demonstrate our commitment to our community that our school is a safe space for anyone, no matter who you are.

LDSB wants everyone who learns, works or volunteers in our school board to feel safe and supported, and experience a sense of belonging in a caring learning environment. Our schools are committed to providing all of our students with a positive school climate. We know that when students feel safe and supported in a healthy, accepting and welcoming school climate, they have greater success. We want everyone to see themselves in Limestone.

So this Thursday, we will break out our red, orange, yellow, blue, green and violet in celebration of diversity and acceptance! We can't wait to see you shine!

Psssst - Get ready for a Raptors Day!

WE THE NORTH! For all our basketball fans and proud Canadians, get ready to celebrate Canada's first ever NBA championship by dressing up in Raptors' clothing, basketball wear or Canadian gear the day after our Canadian Raptors win the series.

But let's not talk about it until it happens...we wouldn't want our Lynx to jinx anything ;)

From the way things are going, this impromptu spirit day could be this Tuesday (Game 5 is Monday night), Friday (Game 6 is Thursday, if needed), or next Monday (Game 7 is Sunday, if needed).

Congratulations to our Track & Field Team!

The Southview Lynx put on a show at the 2019 Region 1 Track and Field meet last Wednesday at CaraCo track in Kingston! We were so proud of the team of over 70 students, and their amazing coaches, who showed perseverance, sportsmanship and school spirit as they performed their best and cheered on their teammates. Southview came away with 5 overall medals, and many more personal bests. The District Meet is June 12th and we can't wait to cheer on our 40 qualifying students! Go Lynx!
