FY21 Employee Workday Calendars

FY21 Employee Handbook

Remember to remind all new and returning employees that they should review the employee handbook each year (link is below). In the handbook, you will find employee rules and regulations, obligations and expectations, along with much, much more. Remember, this handbook is a living document. It may change from time to time depending on updates and changes in guidelines and the needs of our district. This handbook is located on the HR Webpage and in SharePoint.

Looking for a particular procedure or a sample letter....visit the HR Procedures Manual in OneNote for "All Things HR". In this manual, you will find an abundance of helpful resources such as:

Classified Evaluations

Classified employees will complete 3 evaluations for the 2020-2021 school year. (Guidelines are attached) A Self-Assessment and Pre-Conference Evaluation should be completed by September 18, 2020. Supervisors are responsible for uploading completed evaluations in PowerSchool Records. Evaluation forms are located on the HR Webpage and in SharePoint.

TKES/LKES Implementation Reports

HR runs TKES/LKES implementation reports the Monday before each VIP meeting. The goal is to have 100% completion on all steps. You can find a complete list of evaluation guidelines on the HR Webpage under Forms & Documents. (Guidelines are attached)

Code of Ethics & Pertinent Policies & Procedures

Principals & Supervisors:

You will be presented with the Code of Ethics & Pertinent Polices & Procedures at VIP in August. After this presentation, you should redeliver this information to your staff. EACH staff member must sign the acknowledgement form. A copy of this form should be forwarded to Lewanna Stubbs in HR and you should keep a copy for your records. HR will provide you with a copy of the ppt presentation and acknowledgement form. Deadline to complete this process is August 28, 2020.

HR Staffing Meetings

Principals, it's that time of year again for.....HR Staffing Meetings. Please make sure all Recommendations & PAFs for new hires, transfers, and resignations are submitted in PowerSchool by September 18, 2020. Staffing meetings will be held between August 26th - September 3rd. Please see the schedule below. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Important Reminder Regarding Retirees Returning to Work in FY21

Principals, Directors and Supervisors:

Please be advised that TRS retirees who have been approved by TRS to return to work in a part time status at 49% will not be allowed to work days or hours outside of their pre-approved contract days.

For example: Retirees will not be approved to attend collaborative-planning, training classes, etc. that take place prior to their contract start date.

Retired members of TRS have the ability to be employed on a part-time basis under certain terms and conditions. TRS reviews all retiree employment on a monthly basis. Additionally, TRS performs detailed audits of TRS retirees’ employment records from both the Department of Audits and the Department of Labor. All discrepancies are investigated and, if necessary, benefit payments are terminated and/or funds collected for benefits wrongfully paid.

Service Agreements

Things to remember when submitting service agreements:

  • If the candidate is a new hire or rehire (with a 12 month or more break in service), they must complete a service agreement application in PowerSchool and be recommended for hire. You must also complete the service agreement form.
  • If the candidate is an active employee or a rehire (with less than 3 months break in service), the hiring manager only needs to complete the service agreement form.
  • Make sure you are using the most current service agreement form (form is attached below).
  • All service agreements must be completed entirely and contain all required signatures.
  • Certified service agreements should be submitted to Marqueta Harden.
  • Classified service agreements should be submitted to Sharonda Ladd.

The Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA)

The FFCRA requires certain employers to provide their employees with paid sick leave and expanded family and medical leave for specified reasons related to COVID-19. These provisions will apply from April 1, 2020 through December 31, 2020.

Employee Referral Bonus Program

Help Us Build A Great Team!

Employees who refer a "Teacher" candidate will receive a $1000 Referral Bonus if that candidate is hired and works in the district for a full year. Reach out to friends and family interested in teaching and tell them about the great things happening in Bibb! Please see the attached flyer for guidelines.
