Happy Mother's Day!
Read-a-Thon
Our class reached our goal of 5,000 minutes read for the Read-a-Thon! We read a total of 6,391 minutes! Amazing job to the students for reading and thanks to all of you for your support!
Reading/Science
Next week students will continue using reading strategies to enhance their understanding of forces, motion and magnetism.
With the end of the year quickly approaching, please encourage your child to continue reading at home in order to meet their 4th quarter AR goal.
Writing
Next week we will discuss how a poet always has a message or feeling to share which inspires them to write a poem. Students will then think of personal experiences or feelings about a topic to gain inspiration for their own poems. They will include word choice that will evoke the feeling they want their reader to feel while reading.
Math
Next week students will continue practicing finding the area and perimeter of complex shapes with all right angles. They will focus on dividing a larger shape into smaller rectangles to find missing side lengths and the area of the shape by adding the smaller rectangles together.
