Paws for PRIDE
Congratulations to last week’s Paws for PRIDE winners: Fiona M, Chloe C, Mrs. O’Connor, Jalynn J, Dominic V, Connor S, Landon L, Hailey M, and Miss Brennan’s 5th grade class.
Students, classes, and teachers are chosen at random to be recognized and celebrated for demonstrating one of our five character traits - Pride, Respect, Individual Responsibility, Determination and Empathy. Thank you to all of the Titus families for your support of our Paws for PRIDE program.
Community Connections
Dear Titus Elementary School Families,
Please join me in the Titus library on December 2 from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. for this school year’s first “Community Connections” meeting.
Last year, we initiated these meetings in order to encourage frank conversations about a shared vision for the future of our schools. I was grateful for the feedback and ideas that our families shared and I look forward to this year’s sessions! I hope you can find time to attend.
A video introduction may be seen on the website at www.cbsd.org/communityconnections.
Stay Well,
John J. Kopicki, Ed.D.

Request from the Nurse
The Health Office is in need of your help! Please send in any gently used size medium or large sweat pants/Titus gear.
Thank you in advance.
Dress for the Weather
Don't forget, as we enter the colder weather, to please dress appropriately for recess outside. Hats, gloves, coats, etc. are all important as we will be outdoors as long as the weather allows.
Walker and Bike Dismissal Reminder
Parents of our walkers and bike riders who leave through our dining room are reminded that they should not be driving and parking by the cafeteria doors. We have many staff members who park in this area for After Care and it may cause a dangerous situation for our walkers and bike riders who are leaving at the end of the day.
We appreciate your help in keeping our Titus children safe. If you need to pick up your child(ren) as a car rider, please use the car line in the back of the building and send communication to your child's teacher. Please do not pick up your child as a car rider by the cafeteria doors.
Dismissal Reminders
If it is necessary to change your normal pick-up routine at the end of the day, i.e., a different adult, bus rather than car, car rather than bus, a change in child care arrangements, etc., a written note must be presented to the classroom teacher, who will share the information with the office.
Any phone calls regarding a change in end-of-day plans must be directed to the office before 2:45 PM through phone (267-893-4500, dial zero for the office) or via e-mail (mdaily@cbsd.org and rglasgow@cbsd.org) and not directly to the classroom teacher, as we cannot guarantee the teachers will be able to check their messages during the instructional day. It is extremely important that all changes in dismissal are provided to the main office prior to 2:45 PM in order to prepare all of our children for dismissal. Only emergency changes should be called into the office after 2:45 PM.

Celebrate Education Week
Rules
Students in grades three through six were invited to read the book Rules at home with their families over the last month. To culminate this activity, fourth, fifth and sixth graders were encouraged to add their own personal rules to the playground blacktop. Some of their ideas were quite inspiring!
History Club
Our History Club has been busy, busy! Our students have been learning about bee keeping, candle making during colonial times and now, German paper cutting called Schereenschnitte, and WWII uniforms.
Thank you Mrs. SCHORPP for bringing this wonderful club to Titus!

Toys for Tabor
The season of giving is almost upon us and once again we at Titus will be collecting new and unused items for Tabor Children Services from Monday, November 4th through Thursday December 5th with our wrapping party taking place on the evening of December 5th. If you would like to volunteer your time or items to make this a successful event, please contact Mrs. Katie Doerr. The children in need range from infant through 21 years of age. Please click here to take a look at the holiday gift suggestion list to see what items are most needed. There will be decorated collection boxes in the lobby for your donations.
While shopping this holiday season, please consider picking up a gift for the children of Tabor House. For many, these will be the only gifts they receive. The children who benefit from your generosity are extremely grateful for your kindness. Thank you in advance for your support!
