New Administrative Procedure 325 - Exemption From Human Development and Sexual Health Instruction
The Administrative Procedure 325 and related forms can be found on the Policies & Procedures home page. This information can also be found on the Limestone DSB home page, under the ‘Families’ heading and the ‘Health and Physical Education Curriculum’ subheading should parents/guardians want access to it.
In order to share this information with the community, LDSB will push out a central communicate message informing all elementary parents/guardians of the new administrative procedure, and where to find the forms. This communication will happen soon.
Here is a quick summary of what should happen at the school level:
- Educators will inform their students’ parents/guardians that they will be covering the Human Development and Sexual Health expectations (found in Strand D of the Health and Physical Education Curriculum) at least 20 days prior to commencing the instruction. Educators will use Form 325-A to do this.
- If parents/guardians wish to request an exemption for their child, they must fill in Form 325-B and hand it in to the administrator no less than 5 days prior to the beginning of the date stated in #1.
- The administrator, in partnership with the school team, will make arrangements for the student during the exemption period and confirm these arrangements with the parent/guardian prior to the instruction commencing using Form 325-C
