A Message from Mrs. Fockler, LES Principal starting July 1, 2020
Dear Lewistown Elementary School Families,
It is with tremendous pride and enthusiasm that I will be serving as the new principal for the 2020- 2021 school year! I began my administrative career at LES as an assistant principal and am beyond thrilled to return! I am honored to rejoin the Lewistown family and value the strong traditions that are held. I know how the stories, relationships and the history of this school and community is what creates a positive culture in the building, and beyond. I am dedicated to learn, excel and succeed with the Lewistown Tigers in the coming years!
My many experiences serving education has taken me overseas teaching and opportunities in Frederick County Public Schools. My classroom experiences include teaching kindergarten, first grade, second grade, third grade, reading and math intervention, reading specialist role and most recently, assistant principal at Tuscarora Elementary School. I grew up in Mt. Airy, staying local and enjoying the lakes, hiking trails and diverse community events which Frederick has to offer with my family. My husband and I have a blended family with 5 girls and 2 grandchildren.
Until I have the pleasure of meeting you face to face, know that I couldn't be more excited to join this team! We will work together to adjust and plan for continuous educational opportunities while schools are closed and compassionately take into consideration the variety of difficulties families are enduring during this time. We will continue the strong tradition of TeamLES!
Mrs. Belinda Fockler

SUPPORT SERVICES FOR STUDENTS AND FAMILIES
Our world has shifted dramatically over the past few weeks. Students and and family members who are experiencing difficulty may wish to contact the Frederick County Mental Health Association (MHA).
- The MHA's Call Center is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. From intervention, a caring and supporting voice at a moment of crisis, to connecting you to resources and information, dial 211.
- With the physical facility closed, MHA's Walk-in Behavioral Health Services has moved to an online tele-health platform. The program, and the services it provides, remains the same in all other aspects; and will still provide comprehensive safety/wellness planning, resource information, and referrals as appropriate.
- To access: Go to www.fcmha.org and click on the yellow banner at the top to access an intake form for the service. After completing and submitting the form, information to access the platform will be provided. This can be accessed via computer, tablet, or smartphone (must have access to internet/cellular data).
The Virtual Walk-in Behavioral Health Service is operational Monday - Friday from 10:00 am - 10:00 pm and Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 am - 6:00 pm.
FCPS is closed for Memorial Day and will not distribute meals on Monday, May 25.
