Mr. Bruce and Spirit say Hello!
Hello Everyone,
As we get closer and closer to our Kick-Off to Distance Learning next week on April 20th, I wanted to describe what will happen and implore everyone to ensure their child has access to a device. I want everyone to know that this is your education. What you accomplish or don't accomplish is really up to you. We all want our students to keep up with their schooling. Even though the State of Maryland has closed school buildings, education is an open and active process. There has also been an addition to the meal sites which is even closer to our school.
New Meal Site
Meal service started today at a 14th distribution site: Hollifield Station Elementary School. Meal service is similar at each location in which participants will be given a Grab-N-Go snack, lunch and dinner for that day, as well as a Grab-N-Go breakfast for the following day. Friday distributions at school-based locations also will include meals to sustain children through the weekend. Participants are encouraged to bring a bag to carry home meals each day. Parents/guardians may pick up meals for their child(ren).
Have a Great Week!
worth repeating...

HCPSS Counseling Services for Students, Families, and Staff
The COVID-19 pandemic has made this an especially stressful time for many, especially those already impacted by mental health concerns. Find information about local and online resources for counseling and mental health supports for you and your family on our website.
School Supplies
Limited quantities of pens, pencils and notebooks will be available at the Hammond, Long Reach and Oakland Mills high school Technology Distribution sites, which students/families may pick up if supplies are needed for continuity of learning at home. Prepare for Success has donated its inventory of school supplies, which will soon be available at meal distribution sites. Please stay tuned as we gather this inventory this week and prepare for a wider distribution beginning next week.
