COVID-19 Update 3.27.2020
Dear Families,
The recommended guideline is two hours of "seat" work a day. Of course that can be broken up into smaller chunks. No one should actually sit for two hours straight doing work (even parents working from home :)) If you are finding that the workload is taking much longer than that, please let us know. We want to be responsive during this time. On the flip side, we have had parents requesting extension activities. If your child would like to opt in for more, most teachers have posted links either on their website, in google classroom, or See Saw for kids to try other learning extension activities. One great option is for students to read and take AR (Accelerated Reader) tests from home. We were excited to have AR release the tests to be taken from home. Mrs. Udy is working on a way to still recognize students for their AR participation.
Please know we are keeping our website updated and have added a COVID 19 Distance Learning Page on the front page of the website. Each grade level has added resources there for you to stay connected with the class. We hope that will help with consistent messaging to our families. If you have any questions, please reach out. We understand distance learning is a new challenge. We will be happy if you take this time to enjoy this unique family time, cook together, play games together, and get outside to enjoy Alaska. One last reminder -while finding your new normal always remember to Wash Your Hands!
