Literacy by Danny
Unfortunately, our literacy reporter was out at the end of the week so this portion has been written by Mrs. Price.
This week the students read the tall tale "Paul Bunyan" and learned about the features of tall tales, hyperbole, and generalizations. Since the students were learning about the features of tall tales, they are not writing a snippet of a tall tale. Mrs. Sheahan, formally Miss Finnan, came in and helped the students learn how to use a new technology tool, Storyboard That. This will be were the tall tales are written look for more to come with the tall tales. To practice the vocabulary this week each student used Google Drawing and wrote sentences with this week's words. Please see the included link for these projects.
There will be no spelling next week since it is a review week.

P.E. by Eros
This is the P.E. newsletter. On Monday,we did fit day which is where we do stretches and exercise. We wear our pedometers to count the steps we take and the M.V.P.A. which means Moderate to Vigorous Physical Activity. On Tuesday, we played a teamwork game called river rafts in the 4th grade multipurpose room.On Wednesday, there was no substitute for Mr.Lebar so we stayed in the classroom and did literacy and gonoodles. On Thursday,we played river rafts again but in the big gym.On Friday, we did a game called hula huts where we put hula hoops together to make a little hut and we try to knock it down with dodge ball balls. That's all we did this week.
