We are Learning...
Math: We will be wrapping up our focus on mental subtraction. We will then move on to subtraction with and without regrouping!!
Word study in 2nd grade includes spelling, phonics, and vocabulary development. We are focusing on 13 new vocabulary words until winter break. Those words are: income, profit, economics, need, want, resources, tragedy, effect, design, supply, scarcity, opportunity cost, and surplus!
Next week we will continue working on our nonfiction writing.
Social Studies: We will continue our study on economics. Students will describe how people in a community use productive resources, create a variety of businesses and industries, specialize in different types of jobs, and depend on each other to supply goods and services.
