Panther Pause
21 years of Pride at Colleyville Heritage High School
2.2.18
Panthers,
I have had such a great week of learning! I was fortunate enough to spend the early part of this week at a conference with administrators from around the state. It was very affirming to me that we are able to provide some amazing learning opportunities for our students, and it truly made me more grateful for the amazing staff we have here at CHHS.
As usual, there are a lot of fun happenings going on around CHHS this time of year, and lots of opportunities to come and support our students as they show off their talents. Tonight, the boys soccer team will host Polytechnic HS, and the girls will travel to play in Poly. All of our basketball teams will host the Poly Parrots tonight, and immediately after the girls varsity basketball game and before the boys game, we will be celebrating a great group of senior players, and also recognizing current military members and all veterans for Texas Military Hero's Day. These guests of honor are the true PRIDE of Colleyville Heritage High School and our community, and we are all very grateful for their service. Tomorrow is the annual Spring Fling hosted by the Panteras dance team, and this is always a fun show of talent from our young ladies as they have been working hard since the fall to perfect these routines.
These are some great opportunities to come out and support our students. Have a great weekend and GO PANTHERS!!

Student Voice
Define what PRIDE means to you at CHHS.
Pride is not a word, but an emotion you feel for your efforts. Everyone has an obstacle in their lives. You either live with it or push to over come that obstacle. After that a sense of pride will give you motivation to be a better person or character. Pride is an important emotion for being a better you.

THE COLLEGE FIRST YEAR EXPERIENCE
- Do you know how to make sure you can access your child's grades once they are 18 and in college?
- Does your child know the difference between an Urgent Care center and an ER when they are ill away from home?
- Do your kids have their own bank account and know how to access it?
Mrs. Bures will share insights for students about contacting professors, money management, and staying involved, healthy, and active during the important first-year transition. Parents will learn about HIPAA and FERPA, so they can access to their child's grades and personal information while in college. For more information, contact Debra Hurley at vpprograms@chhsptsa.org.
