Site Team Notes
Minutes / Notes / Outcomes
STEMovastion Lab - This is a free program sponsored by Burns McDonnell & Heart of America Council (Boy Scouts of America). It is a trailer with video drone, 3D printers, laser etching, & engineering activities. They will make trips to schools. If weather is nice, they will set up tents with activities. We are trying to schedule this for the Pancake breakfast and the Arcade night.
No need for lunch choice to be on announcements as classes are finished with lunch choice by the time we play announcements. All student created videos in announcements need to use a microphone so students can be heard better.
Pancake breakfast and a Team Science activity are scheduled the same day. Looking for help from anyone not attending the Team Science activity to help with the book fair / breakfast if possible.
Advisory Meeting Notes
March 8th is the groundbreaking for the new construction at the high school
The district is looking for more Homebound teachers in the district if you are looking for extra hours.
The mental health seminar they had last month at Ray-Pec was very successful and provided a lot of great information and resources.
They have started conversations about possibly getting bullet proof doors at some buildings.
They are working on getting the subs in our buildings trained on guardian angel boxes.
On the Tip Line on the Belton website, people can send a message to alert the district of something suspicious that they have seen or heard about.
The district is meeting with realtors in the area today to let them see how things are going at the middle school.
The district annual report will be mailed out to the community in the next couple weeks.
Leaving the Building
Please remember that you are contracted from 8:45-4:15 (morning duty) or 8:55-4:25 (afternoon duty). If you are leaving the building during that time for any reason, you are required to sign out in the office. When you sign out, you must mark whether you are leaving for personal or professional reasons. If you are leaving for professional reasons, you must make note of the professional leave within the sign out book.
Walking Field Trip Cutoff
Walking field trips will not be allowed after May 31st. This is to prevent scheduling walking field trips during times when the heat index is too high for students to be outside.
Tornado Drill
Thank you all for working through the issues with our tornado drill on Tuesday. Please remember to keep walking down and fill in areas in the hallway that are open, you are not expected to be in the same spot every time. We noticed that if a couple of classes would have moved down opposed to stopping at their normal spot, we would have been able to save some congestion. The spaces available are going to change throughout the day due to who is at specials, lunch, or recess. Thank you for your flexibility.
Field Trip List
If you have not scheduled your field trip, please do so ASAP!
