Welcome back to school! In honor of Back to School Night, this month we will be highlighting the college major Education. With the season transitioning us from Summer to Fall, when homes typically receive a check-up, we will highlight the wonderful trade of HVAC along with Plumbing and Electrical. Lastly, to kick off the start of this year's newsletter we will focus on the branch of military whose motto is "This we'll defend" - the Army.

National Hispanic Heritage Month 2022 (September 15 - October 15)
In honor of National Hispanic Heritage Month, we are highlighting Montclair State University's Hispanic Student College Institute (HSCI). HSCI offers high school rising juniors and seniors of Hispanic/Latinx descent to strengthen their knowledge on issues related to transitioning into college, future academic success, and applying to college. If selected, it is completely FREE to attend! The program covers housing, meals, and all of the workshops/activities.
HBCU Highlight of the Month...Howard University
Every month we will share one of the 107 Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) in the United States! Howard University is ranked as a Tier 1 national university by U.S. News & World Report (USNWR). This 4-year university located in Washington, DC was chartered in 1867!
TRADE
HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical
Careers in trades, such as Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC), are in high demand! Gaining a certificate in a trade would not take nearly as long and as expensive as a traditional four year college. Consider these trades and check out these websites:

Founded August 20, 1964, Job Corps offers skills training for today's workforce and no cost to the participant and their families. Check out the different programs offered locally in Woodstock, MD.
MILITARY
