Project Zambia
Volunteer Zambia: Education is a partnership between the University of St Andrews and the Zambian Non-Government Organisation, Sport In Action. The project involves University staff and students living and working for 5-6 weeks each summer in Kazemba - a rural Zambian village - to support staff and pupils at the local school and within the wider village community.
This life-changing opportunity offers experience in:
- Teaching
- Leadership
- Communication
- Cultural awareness
- Community involvement
- Project management, and more
- Teaching: including literacy, games and music
Eligibility requirements:
- Students must be registered on a St Andrews degree programme which involves at least one further academic year of study;
- In order to be allowed to participate, students must raise enough money to cover their costs (approximately £2,000).
- Students must commit to attending pre-departure mentoring meetings and training throughout the year running up to the time in Zambia.
