Campus Emergency Response Team (CERT)
- always wear your name badge
- make sure your car has it's HISD tag
- make sure your kids know the different kinds of emergency drills...fire, tornado, lock down, shelter in place
- doors to classrooms should be locked at all times
- classrooms not in use should be locked
- check outside doors as you pass
- if you see someone without a name tag, escort them to the office
GCS/PATHS
GCS & PATHS provide invaluable support for our kids. We are in the process of refining those support structures to better meet their needs. Please be mindful of the following:
- lesson plans are completed by Friday at 3:30
- Each team can put keys in the google folder or deliver them to GCS
- Communicate with GCS/PATHS teachers about individual students as needed
- Oral administration is moving to technology based so that aides can be in classrooms (not reading tests).
Reminders
- Jeans on Friday with Hallsville tees or professional tops
- Grades: reteach all students that are missing a concept; even if they're gifted/advanced
- Cell phones: Take them up if they are using them in class and bring them to the office. This also means adults don't use them in class.
- Tardies -Please mark them every time. This also means adults aren't in the halls once the bell rings.
- Aesop times are set. You can't personalize them.
Assessments
- Special Education teachers have been trained and will begin putting assessments in Google. This should cut down on the number of kids you need to send out of your classrooms.
- Assessments should link back to our Essential Questions...what do we want kids to learn and how will we know if they've learned it. Assess when they should have learned it. Don't worry about getting boxed into timelines.
