Let's Celebrate!
Hello Charlemagne Families!
We hope this finds you well and that a new balance is providing rhythm to your days! We’re excited to be back on line with PTO e-News and wanted to share with you some updates for the week ahead.
Staff Appreciation Week
This week, May 4-8, is Staff Appreciation Week and we want you to know how our amazing teachers and staff will be celebrated. Huge thanks to those who brought a card to their teacher and other staff members during our student belongings pick-up last week. Here is what we have planned for the week ahead!
Monday 5/4: Special e-Mail Message
Email of appreciation from Mme. Courtney and PTO: If you would like to include a special message regarding our staff as a whole please email a sentence or two to frenchiepto@gmail.com by Monday morning at 8 a.m.
Tuesday 5/5: Social Media Day
Post a shout-out to your students’ teachers and EA’s on your own personal social media. If you use Facebook, tag “Charlemagne French Immersion!” (https://www.facebook.com/charlemagnepto)
On any Seesaw assignment your student submits today, take an extra moment to have them record a special “staff appreciation” message to their teacher and EA
Wednesday 5/6: #bettertogether
PTO will post a 4J #better together message about our fantastic Charlemagne staff which we’ll also post on our Charlemagne French Immersion Facebook page.
Thursday 5/7 : Staff Surprise
We’re delivering fun survival kits to our teaching staff!
Friday 5/8: Yoga class!
The staff will have the opportunity to participate in a gentle nurturing restorative yoga practice with 5th grade parent Louise Hutson… big thank you to Louise for sharing her expertise!
Our teachers and staff are paramount in making Charlemagne the wonderful environment it is for our children to learn and grow! Thank you for helping us celebrate their hard work this week in the new environment of distance teaching.
Yearbooks Are On the Way!
Yearbook Orders
In the past, Charlemagne took yearbook orders when students returned from Spring Break. The teachers are just now putting the finishing touches on what we know will be a very special yearbook for 2019-20.
Yearbooks are more important than ever to give our children a sense of school community, as well as reflecting the hard work of the 4th and 5th graders who put the yearbook together.
The PTO has decided to contribute funds toward the cost of yearbooks to ensure every family can have one to commemorate an unprecedented year. Last year, yearbooks were $10. We also had an option of $5 for those who needed assistance in purchasing one. Some families sponsored another student's yearbook by contributing more.
Any families who wish to donate to the PTO to help cover yearbook costs can do so at the following link: https://CharlemagnePTO.square.site/ Thought it would be helpful, there is no obligation to contribute-- every family will receive a yearbook once they arrive.
We hope this will be an uplifting gift for our students and families during this challenging time!
Charlemagne Receives Recognition

Help support the great work we are doing with our Amity intern program and vote for us as the $5,000 winner using this link. With the adjustment to a new normal this spring, achieving this award would allow us to provide needed support to our Amity Intern program.
