November 2019
PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
As the first trimester of the 2019-2020 school year comes to an end, I can’t help but be amazed at how very much we have to be thankful for. We have enjoyed a very successful first Trimester, and we are confident this success will continue throughout this school year and beyond. As I travel throughout the hallways and into the classrooms I continue to be impressed with the intelligence and capabilities of our students. We truly have an environment that is special!
Please be sure you read the rest of the newsletter to find out the many things that are happening here at Saline High School. Have a great November and looking forward to the Holiday Season.
RAFT REMINDERS:
1. Schedule Changes
There will be limited schedule changes 2nd trimester. Schedule changes will only occur if:
1. The student has an incomplete schedule,
2. The student has been academically misplaced
The window for taking an online class is closed for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year. The decision to add an online course should have occurred by the end of the schedule change window in the first trimester. Online courses cost the district money and the budget has now been finalized.
For the 2020-2021 school year, the online course selection deadline for all three trimesters will be Friday, June 5, 2020. No online courses will be added after this date. The counselors will be sharing this information with our students during their grade level scheduling meeting.
2. We have noticed that the Staff parking lot on the east (Auditorium) side of the building is a popular place for student drop off and pick up.
For the safety of our staff and students, we are asking that you refrain from using that space as a drop-off or pick-up between the hours of 7:00-7:45 AM and 2:15-3:00 PM.
The pickup loop at SHS is in the west lot, near the athletics entrance.
Thank you for your attention to this, and supporting our effort to keep staff and students safe!
As always, if you have any questions please do not hesitate to reach out and ask a staff member or administrator.
