Introduction
This website will inform you about photosynthesis, and why it is vital to all life on this planet. Photosynthesis is happening all around you whether you know it or not, and it is the reason that we have oxygen to breathe.
Photosynthesis description
Photosynthesis is the process in which green plants use the energy from the sun to transform water, carbon dioxide, and minerals into oxygen and organic compounds through three steps.
3 steps of photosynthesis
Step 1/ Light absorption - Chlorophyll and carotenoids absorb light, and water is split into hydrogen and oxygen
Step 2/ Election Transport Chain - Movement of hydrogen across the thylakoids provides energy to produce ATP and NADPH
Step 3/ Calvin Cycle - In the stroma, using the electrons carbon enters as carbon dioxide and leaves as sugar

Chloroplast
The chloroplast contains chlorophyll and is responsible for enabling photosynthesis to occur. Stacked disks in the chloroplast called thylakoids absorb light so that plants can convert sunlight into chemical energy.
