The WES Parent Wildcat Weekly
Home of the Wildcats!
Week of April 12-16, 2021
Hello from Principal Holmes!
Dear Wildcat Parents,
Today we transitioned to four days of in-person learning for our hybrid student learners. Thanks to everyone's support, it was a smooth transition. A few reminders are below...
For our Hybrid Learners:
- You will be in person four days a week (online on Wednesdays).
- No option for online learning if you are absent.
For our Virtual Learners:
- Encore will be four days a week. Expect this schedule from your child's teacher.
- Your schedule with the classroom teacher will stay the same.
The RACE for Education is just around the corner and we are tied for first place with the most people registered. We can do this wildcats and bring home the $300! The race will be held virtually April 16-18 so you can run/walk at your leisure! Please be sure to share out pictures so we can see everyone's smiling faces as they enjoy this great family time together. See the info below for more details and how to acquire a t-shirt for registering.
Many, many thanks to our parents who drop off and pick up their student learners. We doubled the number of students today and with everyone's patience, it went very well. Due to the number of students who are picked up in the afternoon, we will continue to direct the car lines in the upper parking lot like we did this afternoon. We ask for your continued patience and turn-taking, as we move the cars into the front circle. This is not a time that we are going to be in a hurry or feel rushed. Your child's safety is too important to us to rush through parent pick up.
Let's continue to work together to support our student learners. Although this has been an unusual year of learning, our student learners are making progress and showing a lot of growth in their learning. They will be ready for next year.
With wildcat pride and spirit,
Dianne Holmes
Principal

Race for Education - WES is in the lead!! We can do it!
This family-friendly 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk will raise funds to enhance the quality and impact of student learning experiences in Spotsylvania County Public Schools (SCPS) through the Spotsylvania Education Foundation (SEF).
- Now, more than ever, SCPS teachers, students, and families need support from our community. The Spotsylvania Education Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, supports innovative programs and projects for the students and employees of Spotsylvania County Public Schools, which enhance student learning and contribute to success after graduation. During this unprecedented time, the Foundation will continue to work closely with SCPS to identify how to best support students and teacher.
SEF is hosting the race virtually this year! Participants will complete their 5K or 1 Mile during April 16-18. Race bibs and t-shirts* will be available for pick up on April 15 and 16.
Don't forget to register for the Spotsylvania Education Foundation Race for Education!
The elementary school with the most participation will win $300 for our school! Come on wildcats, we can do this! It will be fun!
