Weekly News from Kimball Hill
WEEK of February 22, 2021
Message from the Kimball Hill Principal
Dear Kimball Hill Parents & Guardians,
Next week is our monthly school-wide Cougar Rally to recognize our classrooms that demonstrate excellence in behavior. At the rally, students will find out if we met our school-wide monthly goal; working together to remain under 7 behavioral referrals. If that goal is met, on Friday February 26th, ALL in-person and virtual students will be invited to participate in our special celebration- Dress Like Your Favorite Book Character, in honor of February I LOVE TO READ Month. This was an idea generated from our students. I wanted to let you know in advance that we are on track to meeting that goal so that you can begin to think about what your child can wear on Friday, February 26th if they would like to participate. We hope to see 100% participation. Activities like this really boost our school morale and build a strong sense of community. We know that times are especially more difficult so I am always looking for ways to incorporate some fun! Please feel free to email me if you have any feedback.
A BIG thank you to all parents that completed the 5E survey. We just made it to 30 parents! We are still in need of your help as our school needs 20% of parents to respond!
Please visit https://survey.5-essentials.org/illinois/ to take the parent survey. Your voice matters!
As always, please reach out to me any time with questions or concerns at lacamerm@ccsd15.net or call the school at 847-963-5200.
Warmly,
Michelle LaCamera

A Message From The School Nurse
Dear Parents/Guardians,
In the next few weeks, I will be conducting vision and hearing screenings for all pre-school, kindergarten and second grade students. Screenings for vision and hearing are provided in accordance with the Illinois Department of Health and District 15 guidelines. Students who do not pass the school screenings are referred for medical follow up. Parents or legal guardians who object to screenings for their child on religious grounds may contact the school nurse for additional information.
During this time, we are ensuring that the safety and health of each student is maintained. All equipment used will be thoroughly wiped down in-between students and students will use hand sanitizer before/after they are screened. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me at 847-963-5202 or email me at alemanl@ccsd15.net.
Sincerely,
Lidia Aleman, School Nurse
