MUSIC 🎶 🎹
Holt Musicians! I hope you and your families are doing well.
Create your own rhythm patterns using household items!
First, look at the orange rhythm pattern that I made. Each plate represents one beat. When you see ONE orange on the plate, call it Ta (a quarter note that gets one beat). When you see TWO oranges together, call them Ti-Ti (eighth notes).
For example: The first picture would be counted "Ta Ti-Ti Ta Ti-Ti". Tap and count each rhythm pattern. Now....get 4 plates (with parent's permission). Create your OWN rhythm patterns using one object for Ta and two matching objects for Ti-Ti. The objects do not have to be oranges. For those of you who are rhythm experts, leave one plate empty. That beat can be a quarter rest (one beat of silence)!
Teach your families how to clap, tap, and say your rhythm patterns. Use homemade instruments to play your rhythm patterns.
Can you email me pics of your rhythms? Be creative! Let me see what you create.

TECHNOLOGY 💻📳
This weeks Fun Friday with Technology involves Drawing, Animating and Virtual Reality!
Don’t forget to practice at least 10 minutes of Typing! Then try some of these fun activities:
Kindergarten: Head over to AbCya and help a flower get water to grow in this puzzle game!
Then try out ABCYA paint, draw a plant or flower, and label the parts!
If you need help with the paint tools, check out this video to get you started!
You can even save your work and email it to me! I would love to see your creations!
First Grade: Animate your own mini cartoon with ABCYA Animation! Try one of these ideas: A child jumping in a pool, a plant blooming, or challenge yourself by making a chick hatch from an egg!
You can save your work and with your parent’s permission, email it to me!
2nd Grade – 4th grades will access Google classroom to find their Fun Friday Assignments.
2nd Grade will explore virtual simulations online by doing a “Make a Stickman” Activity, as well as viewing a quick video called Faux Pawx and the Dangerous Download to encourage students to not download any material without parent permission.
3rd Grade will explore Biomes in Virtual Reality! VR Goggles are not needed, just the computer and a mouse, or even a smart phone!
4th Grade will search the rooms of George Washington’s Home in Monticello!
Want more tech ideas? Have questions? Email me at SherryCorley@misdmail.org
I’m here to help, and would love to hear from you!
