PD Survey
PD SURVEY
Please take a moment to complete the PDC survey based on the PD events you attended throughout the district on October 14th. Your feedback is very important to us.
NWEA Lexile Info.
NWEA LEXILE INFO.
Please plan to share the NWEA Lexile range with parents at conferences. Remember when using the NWEA reports, you will add 100 to the bottom number on the report. (For example, a range of 100-250L indicates a score of 200L.) NWEA is still a brand new assessment experience for our students and a test of standards vs. solely a basic reading comprehension assessment like SRI. Those two elements alone may very well create a new baseline of Lexile results to some degree.

Visit with teachers about your child's academic progress
Watch for information from your child's school about Parent-Teacher Conferences on Oct. 26 and Oct. 27.
Parent-Teacher Conferences (or Student-Led Conferences at some grade levels) provide an important opportunity to learn about your child's academic progress. Often, you will see examples of student work or information about assessments.
The conferences are also a time to discuss strategies to support student learning at school and at home.

APEX
Bridle Ridge will be participating in the APEX Fun Run as our fundraiser this year! Apex leaders will be in the building for two weeks to teach lessons with a LEGENDS theme on leadership that culminates in a fun run that the kids gather pledges towards. The monies that the PTA keeps will go towards our field trips and yearbooks. Additionally 10% of classroom funds goes back directly to teacher led classroom spending.
Monday Oct. 31st is the teacher "huddle" before school and at the end of the day a Pep Rally to pass out student materials. Then for 8 school days Apex coaches will present a quick leadership lesson taught. Don't worry, your kids will still get plenty of classroom time! Lessons are only 8 minutes long and teachers will sign up for the time that works best for them to not interfere with SCHOOL. On Nov. 9th is our fun run! Volunteers will be needed. For more information you can visit their facebook page or contact Kristi or Allison Bruflat.
