Students who need to use the media center during Connections need to have one of the special Connections passes. These passes will have their name and will be signed by media center staff. Passes are available to the first ten students and may be picked up in the media center on Tuesday afternoon or Wednesday morning prior to the Connections period. Please make sure your students have one of these passes before sending them to the media center during Connections.
Students at All Levels:
Buy-Out Information
November 8th during Connections, we will be holding a basketball buy-out to help Greenville County raise money for the Korean War Veterans Association. If you have any student who wants to play in the tournament, they will need to see Mrs. Soules for a form. The cost is $20 per teams of 4 and all money and forms are due by Monday, November 6th. It will be $2 per student to buy-out of Connections to come watch the tournament. There will be holding rooms available for those students who do not want to buy-out.
Look for an email from Mrs. Goodwin referencing holding rooms for students that do not buy out. Teachers are expected to escort students to the holding room. Then, the teachers report to the gym to assist with supervision.
Third year students will be taking the ACT OR SAT next semester at the state's expense. A letter will be sent home with report cards for students to SELECT the test and get a signature from their parents. There are three options and ALL require a parent signature
1. I will take the SAT
2. I will take the ACT
3. I will not take either test
Information will be included in the letter to assist them with making an informed decision. This is an opportunity to take one of the tests required to attend a four year college.
Connections sessions on November 1, 8 and 15 will be one hour. Beginning November 29, the time will be reduced to 30 minutes. This is in response to teacher and student feedback about the program.
PE Students- Sex Ed begins November 3 and will last through November 28.
