Jumanji is a children's book about a magical board game. The author is Chris Van Allsburg. It won the Caldecott award in 1982. Chris wrote Jumanji because he thought that it would be good to write an interesting and adventurous story. It won the Caldecott because it has great illustrations. Jumanji is different from Dave the Potter because it is less colorful. It is more kid friendly and less sad and gloomy. They are the same because they are both kid friendly. Chris was born in Grand Rapids in 1949. He began sketching pictures for books. He wrote 20 children's books and won the Caldecott award. He has two children.
