NEW! Planning for Reopening for In-Person Learning
In mid-February, an email was sent out to families confirming your student as a Monday/Tuesday or Wednesday/Thursday in-person learner, or a virtual learner.
You will get another email this weekend confirming your status and with more details about being on campus. (We are not taking any requests for different days at this point.)
- Monday/Tuesday In-Person learners will be on-campus on Mondays and Tuesdays and virtual on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
- Wednesday/Thursday In-Person learners will be virtual on Mondays and Tuesdays and on-campus on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
- Fridays will be Asynchronous Days for all students.
- Virtual students will follow the same schedule we have now...virtually.
Be sure your student comes on their assigned day.
NEW! March 12th Campus Visit for 6th Graders Who Will Attend In Person
On Friday, March 12th, we will be hosting a 6th Grade Orientation!
We are inviting all 6th graders who have selected “in-person” learning to Mesa Verde for a brief orientation. During this time students will be participating in small group, team-building activities and go on a tour of MV led by 7th and 8th grade student leaders!
Prior to entering campus, students will go through a COVID screening process and will be required to wear a mask during orientation. Due to our social distancing protocols, we will be splitting the orientation into two groups:
- “In-Person” students who will be on campus for the Monday/Tuesday Cohort: Friday, March 12 from 8:50 am – 10:00 am
- “In-Person” students who will be on campus for the Wednesday/Thursday Cohort: Friday, March 12 from 10:20 am – 11:30 am
We look forward to seeing our 6th grade Eagles there and welcoming them to Mesa Verde for the first time this year!
If you are a sixth grader who is staying virtual for the year, we are planning a summer orientation for you so you have the same opportunity before starting 7th grade.
NEW! Grade 7-8 Students New to MVMS

2020-21 Teacher of the Year
NEW! Your Mesa Verde PTSA Needs You!
As we navigate through the uncertainty of 2020-2021, our PTSA is working tirelessly to keep things positive and keep motivating our students and teachers alike. Some examples include the Reflections Art Program, Dine Out nights, Teacher Appreciation, Welcome Back and Volunteer assistance, as well as assisting in coordinating Promotion.
As we approach our Spring elections, we are in need of parents who are interested in supporting our kids and teachers, as well as staying in the know with all that is going on at Mesa Verde (we all want that, right?) We have several critical board positions to fill this Spring. Below is a list of the open 2021-2022 Board positions, along with a basic job description for each (training and documentation will be provided for all positions). All of these positions are important to our school community and culture at Mesa Verde. Please consider volunteering and feel free to contact me with any questions.
Thank you in advance for getting involved, helping us to keep our PTSA active – and supporting our Mesa Verde Committee!

VP, Membership
The PTSA VP, Membership works with a committee to plan the annual membership campaign. The VP, Membership is responsible for creating and implementing a membership plan, promoting membership throughout the year (but bulk of the work is July – September), providing membership reports at PTSA board and association meetings, collecting dues, and distributing membership cards.
Treasurer
The Treasurer is an elected officer and the authorized custodian of all funds of the local PTSA. The Treasurer’s duties also include keeping records and preparing reports to comply with local, state and federal laws.
Auditor
The Auditor reviews the books and financial records the local PTSA to determine their accuracy. The Auditor presents a written report to the board and association and submit those reports to the Palomar Council.
Financial Secretary
The Financial Secretary works closely with the Treasurer in handling PTSA funds and keeps a record of all funds collected, deposited and disbursed. Monthly and annual financial reports should be presented to the board.
Historian
The Historian is an elected officer who captures, assembles and preserves the record of PTSA’s activities through the year. The Historian collects, processes and submits the PTSA volunteer hours.
Volunteer Coordinator
The Volunteer Coordinator works with the PTSA President, Committee Chairs, Principal and Teachers to coordinate volunteer assignments to support the teachers and the success of the students. This is primarily handled through Sign Up Genius or another volunteer tool.
Promotion Coordinator
The Promotion Coordinator works with the Principal and the Front Office on planning, organizing and executing on the 8th Grade Promotion Day event. A Promotion Committee is recommended. This typically is led by 8th Grade parents, though 7th Grade parents are highly encouraged to participate.
Website Chair
The Website Chair maintains the data and links on the PTSA website, so that it is current and remains a strong communications module for our Mesa Verde community.

ATTENTION 8TH GRADERS
NEW! 8th Grade Course Request Information
It is time to start the transition to High School. All 8th grade student presentations will be held on March 19th. Students will hear about their future high school and receive information on how to start selecting their courses. Click the brown button below to view the flyer containing information and links for parent nights, student presentation and open house drop-ins for all PUSD high schools.
For families who are waiting for a transfer request, your student needs to attend the high school presentation of the high school that they are slated to attend, not the one they are requesting a transfer. When they select their courses within synergy, they will need the high school codes for the school they are slated to attend (home location). All the different schools' virtual presentations will be recorded and accessible on the high school websites.
