We have had an exciting start to the school year. We having loved seeing all our Stars in the building and getting to know all our new ones.
This month is Bully Prevention Month. We will focus on promoting kindness, acceptance, and inclusion. At the end of the month we will also celebrate Red Ribbon Week and focus on making healthy choices and saying no to drugs.

Students learned how they can solve their small problems with 9 Kelso's Choices
Breathing as a Coping Skill
Students learned that their breath is like magic and can help calm them when they feel strong emotions. They created magic breathing wands to help them.
Coping Skills Shield
4th Graders learned that coping skills are like a shield to help protect them of the stress of strong emotions. They created shields with their go to coping skills along with new ones they want to try.
Let's Stomp Out Bullying
Monday, October 4th is World Bully Prevention Day. We are asking all Michael staff and students to wear blue to help Stomp Out Bullying
Declaration of Respect
On Friday, Oct. 8th, all NISD students and staff will be invited to sign the Decision of Respect as part of the District’s anti-bullying initiative. It is a day that we ALL make a commitment to respect ourselves and others through our interactions. We pledge that we will use behaviors that show a safe school culture by being kind and respectful to everyone.
Red Ribbon Week
Red Ribbon Week will be celebrated October 25th-29th. It is a drug, alcohol, and violence prevention week that is celebrated in honor of fallen DEA special agent Enrique Camerena in 1985.
