HOLY ROSARY NEWSLETTER
Term 1 Week 2 - 14 February 2020
FROM GEORDIE:
Dear Parents and Guardians
WOW!
Another fantastic week done and dusted here at Holy Rosary!
Our students have had a big, healthy week in Phys Ed with Mr Flexman’s tennis lessons a HUGE hit. The rackets, nets and balls will be left out at play times over the coming weeks so that all our upper primary classes can get some extra practice in. Our Edudance Lessons also began this week and it is always fun to see our kids dancing their way to and from the lessons!
This week we also welcomed Fredrick back on Wednesday. He spent the morning in Kindy where he got thousands of cuddles and even gave out the odd kiss! The Kindy kids discussed the difference between a question and a story and we were able to chat about all the things you have to do to look after a dog like Fred. Just to let everyone know Fred is VERY friendly, we have had lots of great feedback and there are many benefits to having animals like Fred in schools, however, he is also rather large and I am aware that some students may be scared of dogs. If this the case, please let the class teacher know and we will make sure everyone feels comfortable prior to Fred visiting. Likewise, if you have a student who is allergic to dogs please inform the class teacher.
Behind the scenes we continue to work on our Stage 11 of our building project. The architects have been finalising drawings and finishes and we are all very excited about the finished product. I would like to continue to thank everyone for their patience and flexibility while the building project continues. We know that parking, drop offs and pickups are tricky but please be assured that we are doing our best to get people on their way quickly. Can I please remind parents that for younger students, the safest way to pick up your child is out the front of the classroom or through drive-though. We know some students walk with older siblings, however, staff have noticed some kids waiting in dangerous spots outside the school grounds. This is unsafe and we ask parents to please refrain from putting their kids in that situation. The roads around our school are very busy places at these times.
I hope everyone is staying cool, have a great weekend and I look forward to seeing you next week!

FAMILY INFORMATION FORMS
Please see below for Information and Permission forms.
These forms should be returned to the School Office no later than Friday 21st February.
The FAMILY DETAILS FORM should be filled in if there are any changes to the details you have previously given us. It is very important that we have updated phone numbers, email addresses and Alternative Contact details (this is important as there is no sick bay). Your child's well being is very important to us.
The MEDICAL INFORMATION FORM only needs to be filled in if your child has a medical condition. If your child has an EMERGENCY ACTION PLAN for a medical condition (e.g. anaphylaxis, asthma) parents/guardians are responsible for supplying the paperwork to the school and updating it as necessary, including medication that has expired. There should be a new Action Plan each year and they MUST be signed by a doctor.

JOIN OUR P&F HELP CREATE COMMUNITY
🖐🖐 Many hands make light work! 🖐🖐
Community is such an important part of our Holy Rosary school life. We would love parents to join Anita Carr on P&F Committee to help arrange fundraisers and events that bring our community together.
With class year groups now each running one event or small fundraiser (such as Woolworths stickers), the main focus for the P&F is the big fundraiser / social event and ‘empowering parents’ opportunities.
Please let the Office know if you are interested and our P&F President, Anita Carr, will be in touch with you.
Please keep supporting our school’s events and fundraisers!
