IMPORTANT!!!! .................... Test to Play

Beginning November 1st, if a JCPS student (elementary, middle, and high school) is doing any extracurricular activities or sports, they are now required to take a weekly COVID-19 test. Stopher students can take a test during the school day on Wednesdays. To participate in this testing, students must have a consent form on file. Parents or guardians can access the online form by clicking here. Once there, click on the Complete Forms link to proceed. This includes (but is not limited to):

  • Drama By George
  • Bricks4Kidz
  • Chess
  • Dance
  • Cheer
  • Basketball
  • Quick Recall
  • FCA
  • Chorus/Drama if during non school hours
  • ANY indoor before/after school activity

*Current participants must begin testing no later than November 10th. Those students joining activities after November 10th must begin testing right away.

Veterans Day Recognition

Stopher would like to recognize the branches of the United States Military on Veterans Day. We are looking for a representative from each branch to address our students in two assemblies on November 11th. If you know a veteran who would like to speak briefly to our student body, please contact or Each participant will only need to speak for 2-3 minutes ... giving a brief description of their time in the service.

Covid-19 Testing

Routine COVID-19 testing for those who are not symptomatic is available to students during school. This voluntary screening will be done weekly and can quickly identify individuals who may be COVID-19 positive. To participate in this testing, students must have a consent form on file. Parents or guardians can access the online form by clicking here. Once there, click on the Complete Forms link to proceed.

Student Masks and Water Bottles

MASKS: Please be sure that your student is wearing a mask to school each day.

WATER BOTTLES: At this time, students are not permitted to use the school water fountains. As a result (for this year only), students are bringing a water bottle to school with them. These bottles should contain WATER only. Please be sure that your child has his/her name on it. If your child does not have a water bottle, the school can provide him/her with one; however, we ask that they use it again in the following days instead of requesting a new one daily.

Test to Stay

If a JCPS student or employee is a close contact of someone with COVID-19, they now have an option not to quarantine. To qualify, they have to take a COVID-19 test every night for seven days. If they have a negative result, they can come back to school or work the next day.

Free testing is offered at middle and high schools and other select locations in the afternoons/evenings every Sunday-Thursday. There are now more than 50 locations available across the district. Click here for a list of sites and hours.

2022-2023 Elementary Applications

The application period for the 2022-23 school year begins on November 1, 2021 and ends on December 15, 2021.

  • All students, new to JCPS, must submit an application.
  • If your child has a sibling in the school, you MUST submit an application. Enrollment will not take place without an application.
  • Current PreK 4 Year Old students MUST submit an application for Kindergarten. Enrollment at Stopher is NOT automatic if you attend PreK here.
  • Current Kindergarten thru 4th Grade students should NOT submit an application unless you are considering attending a different JCPS school next year.

2022-2023 Middle School Applications

Information for all JCPS middle schools can be found in the Middle School Choices publication.

  • Those students wishing to attend their resides middle school do not need to complete an application. Enrollment will be automatic.
  • Those students wishing to attend a magnet program must complete an online application. The magnet application period is November 1, 2021– December 15, 2021.
