The Governor's Institute of Vermont is Back!
Governor's Institute of Vermont (GIV) is once again offering their summer institutes. This summer's experience will be a virtual immersion opportunity for EHS students to learn with teens from all over the state on a variety of topics ranging in the arts, engineering, entrepreneurship, environmental science, global issues & activism, health & medicine, mathematics and technology & design. These immersion programs are one week long. With their "pay what you can" plan there are no financial barriers. GIV is now accepting applications. All EHS applications need to be submitted by March 29th. GIV is offering Wednesday Zoom information sessions about the summer immersion program to learn more about the programs and application process.
Please go to www.giv.org to learn more about the Summer 2021 Immersion programs at GIV. You can also contact Siobhan Barber sbarber@ewsd.org with questions about GIV.

Sen. Bernie Sanders will hold a town meeting with VT students
Senator Sanders will be joined by a panel of Vermonters to discuss the experiences of young people and get their thoughts on the challenges they have experienced as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Following the panel discussion, there will be a question and answer session with student attendees. The students will have an opportunity to speak about the issues that matter most to them and hear from Sanders about his legislative plans to help students and their families in the Senate.
“When we talk about the destructiveness of the COVID-19 pandemic, we must not forget what it has done to the mental health of our young people,” Sanders said. “They can’t go to school, or see their friends, and, of course, so many lost loved ones to this terrible virus. Their very real pain cannot be ignored. We must respond vigorously by reaching out to them and taking bold action to address their needs.”
