The Christmas story. Matthew (2.1-7)
In a town called Nazareth a young girl named Mary was engaged to a carpenter named Joseph. Mary was going to have a baby who she would name Jesus. Mary and Joseph had to travel to Joseph's home town in Bethlehem because Joseph was a descendant of King Herod. Once they arrived in Bethlehem Mary knew that it was have her baby but there was nowhere to stay. The inn keeper offered them a stable. There were three shepherds on a hill minding their sheep when an angle appeared and told them that a king was about to be born so they must follow the star to the stable where the king is being born. The shepherds did as they were told and they followed the star to the stable. When the shepherds arrived at the stable they praised the new king.
