The plant starts off the food chain by converting energy from the sun.
The pig, a primary consumer, eats the plant and gets 1/10th of its energy.
Trey eats the pig and gains 1/10th of its energy.
The cars put carbon back into the air when they burn fossil fuels.
The air conditioner uses energy which puts carbon back ino the atmosphere.
When people breathe, their body exchanges the oxygen for carbon dioxide through cellular respiration. This puts carbon back into the air.
The water is on the ground after a heavy rain.
It evaporates and the puddles become smaller.
The evaporated water goes into the air and forms clouds, which will come back down as rain again.
This one picture can show the nitrogen cycle because decomposers decompose the dead leaf and release nitrogen back into the air and that nitrogen gets reabsorbed by plants and then when the plants die, it happens all over again.
Rocks containing phosphate are moved downhill much like walking down the stairs.
Phosphate absorbed into soil and consumed by humans.
Phosphate moves into bodies of water and is pushed up over time like walking up the stairs.
Trash cans can be compared to a commensalism relationship because humans need trash cans in our everyday life but nothing else is benefitted or harmed because of them.
