Boa Constrictor

Did you know that a boa constrictor is not poisonous? Yeah...That's good to know!
Appearance & Classification
The boa is very large snake! The boa constrictor's size is 20 feet at full growth. The snake 's weight can be up to 100 lbs! No Way! The height is smaller than anaconds. The boa's color are yellow, red, green and tan. It's skin can have circles, diamonds, ovals or jagged lines. The constrictor has a tube so when it's mouth is full the snake can still breathe. A boa constrictor is a large reptile.
Habitat Information
Do you know where a boa lives? Boa constrictors live in Central America and South America. The weather is extremely HOT! Boas are excellent swimmers. A boa can go in water but it's home is on land.
Predator & Prey
Did you know the boa has predators? I did not. The constrictor preditors are humans, jaguars and crocodiles. Also halks because they eat baby boas. The awesome snake can camouflage itself to be safe from preditors. When the boa constrictor is hungry, it mainly eats bird and mammals. The animal gets its food by squeezing the birds, mice, bats and rodents till it's not breathing. It then swallows it.
Fascinating Facts
I learned many fascinating facts. Did you know that boa constrictors do not lay eggs? The mother can give birth to 60 live babys at a time. The boa is one of the largest snakes in the WORLD!!! A boa's hiss can be heard 1000 feet away! Yikes!
The boa constrictor is a cool and AWESOME snake!!!
