Resource Provider: Created a scaffolded writing plan for second graders, located resources on EdToolBox (former TN Core site) for teachers
Instructional Coach: Planned for modeled writing with teacher next week
Curriculum Coach: Discussed fourth grade literacy curriculum maps and ways to integrate Social Studies but also provide time for narratives and StoryWorks
Other: DRA administration, attended two collaboratives, attended training for Canvas
Celebrations and Appreciations
- Thanks for Thomas for working two 13 hour shifts last week to help out
- Thanks to all for wonderful RTI conferences and real organization and effort to place students in the right tiers
- Looking forward to DB drama students dressing up as Superheroes for VIP Night. They prepared scripts about the PP and will roam the halls. Join me in thanking them. Look out for two heroes that are GWES alumni-Jordan Guest and Raine McKee

Read Aloud Training
This is an opportunity to spend time with colleagues working through read alouds and discussing strategies.
When: Monday, August 29, from 3:45-5:00pm

Participants: K-2 target audience, but all teachers are welcome.
Mentor Sentences
If you are looking for ways to support students with promising practices in language instruction, this course is for you.

Participants: 1st β 5th Grade teachers
DRA Training
This training takes place at the beginning of the DRA window. This course will be helpful to new teachers and is a great refresher course for all teachers on administering the Developmental Reading Assessment.

KCS Elementary 1/2 Mile Race
John Sevier Middle School Cross Country teams will hold a KCS Elementary 1/2 Mile Race on Thursday, September 8 at 4 p.m. at Warriors Path State Park. The starting line is on the soccer fields.
No School Monday, September 5 in observance of Labor Day
