Greetings from the Principal
Dear Riverview Families,
Teacher Appreciation Week is May 4-8, and Riverview has talented educators worth recognizing!
So, what makes a great teacher? The Hebrew word for 'teach' means: to aim or shoot like an arrow, to point like a finger, to flow like water. Teachers work with students to aim them in their desired direction, building upon their strengths, and motivating them to do their very best .
It really does take a village! Each educator at Riverview contributes to student success in their own unique way. From the aides supporting students in the classroom, to the specialists providing reading and language services, to the counseling services to help students grow in their character development, all educators at Riverview have a positive impact on creating a community dedicated to a brighter future for our youth.
Please take time to thank an educator during Teacher Appreciation Week for consistently and passionately providing our students the challenges and resources they need to be prepared for their future.
In order to continuously improve as a building, parent feedback is very important. I would like to invite you to take a moment to provide input on what we are doing well and where we can improve. Please take this brief voluntary and anonymous survey. Thank you for your participation. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/RW2D2XG
Finally, please note that instructions on how to do online enrollment are coming home today in Monday folders. Thank you for your attention to this process.
Make it a great week!

Variety Show Information...
This Friday, Riverview rolls out the Red Carpet
for our Hollywood themed Variety Show!
The entertainment will begin at 2:00 in the gym. If you have a star performer, here's the timeline for the afternoon:
1:30.... Parents will be allowed access to the East Activity Area and performers will be released from class to prepare. (Parents will be able to enter through the East back doors as well as the front office). Since there will still be focused
learning happening in classrooms, all performers will need to take care to stay in designated areas. Only the restrooms across from the cafeteria will be available for costume changes at this time. It is highly recommended that performers wear all or at least portions of their costumes that are appropriate for the classroom to school that day.
1:40..... Final instructions and Line up in the East Activity Area. At this time, parents should make their way to the gym to find a good seat in the viewing area!
1:45 - Gym will be open for parent and student seating. Due to PE class, no one will be allowed in the gym prior to 1:45.
1:55...... Performers head to the gym to be seated.
2:00.... Show begins!
When parking at RE, please remember the buses will most likely arrive while you are enjoying the show. Parking in the bus loop and car loop is not a good idea!
If you plan to take your child home with you at the conclusion of the Variety Show, please follow these steps:
- Make sure your child’s teacher knows in advance!
- Your child should go back to class with his/her teacher to get their things and then return to the gym to meet you.
- Sign your child out with one of the teachers at the stage.
