Dante and the Divine Comedy

Dante was a writer and poet during the Italian Renaissance. The book he wrote called the "Divine Comedy" is decided into three parts; the Inferno, Purgatory, Paradise. In the book Dante is guided by Virgil through hell, purgatory and Heaven.
Describe Dante
Dante Alighieri was a writer of the 13-14 century. He was born in Florence, Italy around the year 1265. Dante grew up and learned in Florence, although there is not much know about his education. Dante was growing up in a time of great turmoil. It was ruled that in order to hold office you would have to practice as a pharmacist. Since this was where books where commonly sold Dante spent much of his time reading the books at the shop.
Describe Divine Comedy
In the Divine Comedy Dante is guided though Hell, Purgatory, and Heaven. He is lead by Virgil, who is a Roman poet, and Beatrice, the love of his life. In the book Inferno Dante travels with Virgil though the seven levels of hell. Then they travel though the 9 rings of purgatory. And finally make their way to heaven.
