A message from our Principal
Hello Saints Community,
I hope this message finds you and your family in good health. We at Jefferson Jr./Sr. have been working hard to ensure of students are safe, respectful, and ready to learn. With that being said we would like to share a few accomplishments and adjustments we are making for our students:
· We have taken safety for all our students as the number one priority. We have improved our systems around supervision. Our campus was closed for lunch, one entry/exit from our school, and hall passes adhered in a tight manner. This has resulted in currently having two fights in our school which we will work to maintain for the rest of the year. We believe we have reached a safe point where we will now open campus for lunch for grades 10-12 for students who have transportation. If your child lives within walking distance and would like them to eat at home, then please write or send a message to the front office to make that accommodation. Our school reserves to revoke this privilege if it is abused by not returning to school or returning late on a continual basis.
· We will be switching our 9th students to high school lunch period. We have decided it is in the best interests of our 9th students to be around high school students instead of middle school students.
· We have relaxed our dress code for students regarding wearing clothes that exposes their mid-drift. Students will be allowed to wear clothes where they are allowed to expose mid-drift with a three finger measurement.
· Student-led conferences are still being held. Please schedule your child with the mentor teacher at your earliest convenience. We believe we need 100% of all students to have the opportunity to meet and discuss their career goal and current grades to reach that goal.
We are excited to continue the work of helping all students establish a career goal and to gain the necessary skills to achieve that goal. Please contact us if you have any questions or concerns.
Respectfully,
Ricardo Esparza
Principal Jefferson Jr./Sr. High School
Respetuosamente,
Ricardo Esparza
