Volunteers Needed to Serve as Proctors for EOGs

Volunteers are needed to serve as proctors for the End of Grades (EOGs) Tests scheduled for May 25 - June 2. Volunteer proctors will help the school to administer EOCs efficiently and minimize disruptions to our students.

Volunteer Proctor Trainings are April 19 and April 26 at Wallace Education Forum from 4 – 6 PM. Volunteers may attend one of the two trainings. Please use the link to RSVP for your volunteers for this training:

If you have any questions, please contact Jason River, Assistant Principal, at 704-857-7038.

Achieve 3000

Students are reminded that they should continue to read a minimum of 2 articles each week in Achieve 3000. Achieve 3000 will be accessible during Spring Break for students to continue improving their literacy skills. We have seen tremendous growth school wide with Achieve 3000 but we still have room to grow and improve.

iPad Health Check

After Spring Break, we will conduct a health check for iPads. We will examine the overall physical condition of all iPads and begin the process for end of year collection. It is important that students come to school each day with their iPads fully charged.

Yount's Homeroom Wins Pizza; Yearbooks Still Available

  • We recently held a contest to see which homeroom could purchase the most yearbooks in a given time period.

  • The winning homeroom was Mrs. Yount in 8th grade! We will schedule a pizza party for this homeroom in the coming weeks.

  • Currently, we have just under 80 yearbooks available. We anticipate that we will sell out quickly.

Congratulations to the CGMS Faculty for having 100% completion rate on the NC Teacher Working Conditions Survey.
