The IREAD-3 statewide assessment is scheduled for March 7th, 8th, and 9th for our 3rd grade students. It is important that your student be in attendance on these days. Please do not schedule any appointments during the testing time.

Student Council will sponsor a Hat Day for $1.00 on Thursday, March 17th. Students may wear a hat of their choice for the day, for a $1.00 contribution to our Student Council.

The MSD of Martinsville Kindergarten Fair will be held on Thursday, March 3rd from 5:00-7:00 p.m.

This fun event will be held at the Martinsville High School Fieldhouse. If you have an incoming Kindergarten student please stop by to meet Mr. Cox, Ms. Hodges, and Mrs. Rice!

New student registration opened on February 1st, 2022. Please go to http://msdofmartinsville.org to enroll your new Pre-Kindergarten through 4th grade student. If you have any questions please call our office at (765)537-2276. Only students who are new to Paragon Elementary need to enroll.

The 1st annual MSD of Martinsville Robotics Showcase will be held March 17th, 2022 at 5:00-6:30. The location will be at the MHS Fieldhouse.

There will be no school March 21st - March 25th for students and staff to enjoy Spring Break.

Our Kindergarten Orientation will be held on Wednesday, April 13th at 9:15 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. If you have a child that will be 5 years old by October 1st they are eligible to enroll.

Please bring your child's birth certificate and immunization records. This will be a very informative meeting for you and your child. We will also ask you to sign up for a pre-assessment time for your child that will take place before the start of the 2022-2023 school year.

Funding has been made available through School Wide Title 1 Services to Paragon Elementary for the purpose of providing students with extra support in reading/language arts and math. This extra support is available for all students at Paragon Elementary. Classroom teachers, Title 1 teachers, and instructional aides provide assistance through small group and individualized instruction as children demonstrate a need for support. Please contact your teacher about services your child may receive.

As weather conditions in our area can change quickly, an early dismissal may be necessary. We will make a decision concerning dismissal as early as possible, call parents through School Messenger, and communicate information to our website, social media, and local media. We encourage you as a family to develop a weather plan. For example, if parents or guardians work, where should your child go if there is an early dismissal or a two-hour delay? Please be mindful that weather prediction is just that, a prediction. We will drive roads, use science, and apply common sense before making any decisions. We hope this information is helpful as we work together planning for inclement weather events.

Cooler weather is upon us. Our students will continue to go out for recess weather permitting. Please make sure they have the appropriate winter clothing to keep them warm. If a student is in need of a coat, hat, or gloves please reach out to the office.

This is a friendly reminder to let the office know when sending any medication to school with your student. Medicine must be in the original packaging and accompanied by a note from the parent/guardian with dosage instructions.

Upon arrival or dismissal, please pull up to the front curb and wait for a staff member to assist your student. If coming from the parking lot, please walk your child across the parking lot. Do not cross between the buses as they may not be able to see you!

Please send a note with your child if their "go home" procedures have changed. If there is an emergency change during the day, please call the office no later than 3:00 pm.
