2015 - 2016 School Goals
At JCFA-East we take our students' education seriously and we work hard to ensure that all students are successful. We also recognize that you, our students' support systems, play a crucial role in helping students achieve success. With that in mind, we'd like to share our school goals (along with our progress toward reaching those goals) over the course of the year. Our goals were developed with input from faculty, staff, administration, and students are designed to measure those things we consider most important to helping us achieve our ultimate goal of graduating our students.
- EOC Goal -- 92% of students will pass their EOC exam (score Fair or Above); 60% will score Good or Above
- Credit Goal -- 75% of students will earn 6 or more credits
- Stability Goal -- 85% of students will remain enrolled through the end of the academic year
- Diploma Options Goal -- 60% of graduates will earn an Industry Based Certification, Dual Enrollment Credit, or a score of 3 or above on the ACT WorkKeys assessment.
We are currently tracking our progress toward meeting these goals and will share an update on our progress in the January Newsletter.
How We Plan to Get There
EOC Remediation
EOC prep for the December 2015 testing session is in full swing. If your student is enrolled in an EOC course (English II, English III, Algebra I, Geometry, Biology, and US History), they should be attending remediation 2 - 3 times per week.
Credit Attainment Rewards
All students should be on track to earn 3 credits before the end of December. In order to help motivate students in meeting this goal, we've implemented a few reward programs
- Credits are Key Campaign - We have set a whole-school goal of earning 350 credits by December 18th. If students meet this goal, they will have an extra day off for our Winter Break!
- 3 Credit Club - Students who have already met the goal of earning 3 credits by the end of December are receiving small, weekly rewards for having met the goal.
Freshman Transition Class
As we expanded enrollment to 150 students this fall, we experienced a demographic shift as we admitted younger students with fewer credits. Currently, half of our students are classified as Freshman. In order to assist those students with the transition to our program we are offering a Freshman Transition class to give them the tools they need to be successful at JCFA-East and beyond.
