Walking Historical Tour
Indiana's Bicentennial
In preparation for Indiana's Bicentennial celebration, we have been spending some time each day learning about local history and the reason behind the upcoming torch relay. We are fortunate enough to have the opportunity to do a walking historical tour through downtown, led by our Jasper County Historian, Judy Kanne. We will go to the site of the very first cabin as well as significant places like the courthouse. Mrs. Kanne is a wealth of knowledge about our city and state's background.
This will take place tomorrow afternoon when we return from specials.
Since tomorrow morning we have our school pictures taken, I assume most of the kids will not be wearing walking gear and may need to change. If you want to send a change of clothes, or at least a change of shoes, that may be a good idea.
If you are interested in coming with us for our tour, you can come to my room by 1:35 and join us. We would love to have a couple more adults come with us. :)
