Paraprofessionals: ELL & Special Ed

Support and Specific Strategies

We are excited to offer a day of professional learning for the many important paraprofessionals that work tirelessly for students in our schools. Tonya Schepers, Title III Director (SW Dubois) and Cassie Williams, Special Education Teacher (Greater Jasper) will guide participants through a day of relevant and timely information that is needed for those invaluable paraprofessionals working with English language learners and student in special education. Participants will:
  1. Small group instruction best practices

  2. Legal Expectations (Privacy, Logistics including paperwork!)

  3. Best practices for collaborating with the classroom teacher

  4. Working in an inclusive classroom vs. a resource setting

  5. Specific strategies for supporting and teaching English language learners

  6. Plus much more!

*A Professional Growth Certificate worth 6 points will be provided at the end of the day.
