No Greater Love
It is nice to have your older sibling attend the same school that you do! Falon took a few minutes out of her busy sixth grade day to share some words of encouragement and love with her kindergarten sister, Angel.

As WGE continues to refine its school counseling program to meet the needs of all students, it is important to take into consideration feedback from all stakeholders to plan a successful program. Mrs. Williams, school counselor, is seeking input from parents to provide information regarding possible counseling needs for WGE students. Please take a few minutes to complete the survey. You may access the link by clicking here or on the title of this section.
Accelerated Reader Update
At Wallace Gregg Elementary School, students are encouraged to take at least one Accelerated Reader test each week. For students in grades 1-6, students receive a G,S,U on their report card in the subject labeled Reading Renaissance each nine weeks. Most of the books in our school and classroom libraries are Accelerated Reader books. This gives students the opportunity to read and earn points for prizes that are distributed at the end of the month. Reading should be enjoyable and fun. The goal is for the students to read for at least 100 minutes per week. Check out the Accelerated Reader stats for the month of February. Our students met their reading goal by reading on average more than 20 minutes a day. WGE is looking forward to this data to continue to grow as the school year progresses. Remember to encourage your child to read each night for 20 minutes.
