Please make sure your child gets plenty of rest each night, eat breakfast every morning, and continue to read daily. Allow them to retell the story to you in sequential order from beginning to end. Music with Ms. Daw
Newsletter: Music Notes 5/11//18
Congratulations to all of the students who participated in “Gotta Be Jazz” last night. It was a great event! Mrs. Harrison and I are so proud of your performance. We would also like to give a shout out to each and every teacher who helped us in any way before, during, or after the show. We are also grateful for the support from our Administrative and Custodial Staff along with Jim Carter, our Facilities Manager.
We were able to pull it off with their help despite the fact that the building was being painted. Go Kestrel Singers!
NC Symphony Education Concert
Our 4th and 5th graders will be traveling to the Progress Energy Center in Raleigh next Wednesday, May 16 to hear a live performance by the NC Symphony. Students will hear music composed by Dvorak, Beethoven, Khachaturian, Brahms, along with American composers, Leonard Bernstein, Aaron Copland, and William Grant Still.
Our students will sing “The Long Leaf Pine” accompanied by the Symphony. Also, our Kestrel Recorder Club will play their rendition of the song.
Dance with Ms. Harrison
I am so pleased with our "Gotta Be Jazz" Spring Performance!!!! This was truly one of the BEST SHOWS EVER!
Many, many thanks to ALL: administration, parents, students and (especially) the teaching staff. None of this could have been done without the support of the "Kestrel Village."
Thank you, so much!

Community Resources for FREE books!
For current students:
Book Harvest runs a Community Book Bank to ensure that all children can grow up in book-rich homes and communities. This Book Bank provides free, age-appropriate books to children in a variety of settings. Our emphasis is on letting children choose the books themselves and on helping them build home libraries. If your family would like to receive books for your child, please bring your child to our Community Book Bank bookshelf, where he or she will be welcome to select books to take home and keep. For Community Book Bank locations, please visit:

Dolly Parton's Imagination Library is a book gifting program for children from birth to age five. The mission of the program is to foster a love of reading in preschool children and ensure that every child born has books, regardless of their family's income.
