Principal's Message
Dear Hollow Hills Families,
How is it possible we only have 9 school days left this year?!? While there are times when the days feel long, the year has gone by very fast. I hope this week's newsletter finds you all in high spirits and filled with pride after seeing the projects and work our Golden Bears had on display at Open House and the Art Show.
We are truly thankful for your active participation in your child's education. The Art Show would not be possible without the many parents who put in countless hours in preparation of projects, in classrooms leading and assisting with projects, and in the production of the Art Show itself. As I walked through classrooms, I saw parent support in every classroom. Ceramics and Great Works of Art would not be possible without parent support on campus and the parents who contribute to these programs by supporting PTA fundraising events. Open House provided a wonderful opportunity for us to celebrate and showcase the talent and creativity of our students, parents and teachers. It was a joy to witness our Golden Bears beam with pride as they proudly showed off their projects to their families.
I also want to thank our dedicated and talented staff who put in countless hours to organize and present an incredible display of student work. Our Golden Bear Community working together for our students creates an exceptional educational experience that is second to none. We truly are better together!
I must also take a moment to express my gratitude to those who volunteered for our Field Days. The campus was filled with the smiles, laughter, and all around joy expressed by our students while they participated in team building games and relays. From Kindergarten to 6th grade, students engaged in activities and hopefully, created many positive memories. Thank you to those who parents and family members who made Field Day possible.
Although we only have 9 school days remaining and they are filled with many fun, memorable events and activities.

Simi Institute - Upcoming Events
Registration for ESL and Citizenship classes will begin August 8, 2024. Any interested parties can fill out our interest form now but they will not be contacted until August. As a reminder, ESL and Citizenship classes are FREE and open to anyone 18 years and older.
Registration is now open for our Parent & Child Education program, also known as The Learning Garden. This program is designed for children ages 12 months - 5 years old and classes are held at both Simi Institute's campus and JELA's campus. Our 3.5 - 5 year old class is a wonderful alternative for children who are of TK age but not quite ready for full-day school.
JELA will be hosting an open house on May 11 from 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm and it will be an excellent opportunity for prospective parents to learn more about The Learning Garden.
