End of Year - Special Days
Tuesday, May 12 - Last Snow Wizard - $1
There are no more ice cream orders this year.
Public Works Day - Wednesday, May 13
Parents Needed: Helpful, but not essential
Things to Bring: N/A - Students may put on sunscreen before coming to school
Time: We will depart around 9:45 and return before 1:00.
Event Details: This is a free, walking trip. You do not need money or permission slips (you filled them in earlier this year). We will walk to Lott Park and tour the activities. They have many emergency vehicles and such to climb on. Lunch is provided at the park (usually hot dogs, chips, drinks, and Popsicles.)

AR Reward Day - Thursday, May 14
Students who have a pass can be out of uniform to celebrate meeting both their AR goal and being above 85% correct. There will be extended playground time for students meeting goals today.
Field Day - Friday, May 15
Parents Needed: Helpful, but not essential
Things to Bring: Students can wear their field day or Friday shirts. If they didn't order one, they need to be in uniform. Tennis shoes are the best choice. Apply sunscreen before coming to school. Hats are ok (for sun). Water is provided, but if students bring an extra drink, we will put it in a cooler. There will be Snow Wizard available at field day.
Time: First grade games begin at 8:30 and will last until 11:15. We will eat lunch and continue with inflatables and snack from 1:20-2:00.
Event Details: Students work with through a rotation schedule to go to all the events. Most of the day will be spent outside. Students are expected to stay with their class at their assigned station and participate in each event.

Game and Art Day - Monday, May 18
Parents Needed: Nope! Fun, in-class activities
Things to Bring: Students can bring a game from home to play with others. No technology please.
Event: We will teach our friends to play board or card games and complete some fun art activities.

Camp Read-a-Lot - Tuesday, May 19
Parents Needed: Nope! Just a fun day at school

- We need a donation of jumbo marshmallows, graham crackers, and Hershey's chocolate to make smores in our solar ovens.
- Sleeping bag, pillow, or anything else fun to lay around and read with.
- Books or magazines to trade. These won't necessarily come home, so only send things you don't want!
Time: All day
Event: Kids will spend the day "camping", reading, making smores in solar ovens, and learning some bike and water safety for summer. We will also do a book trade with books we don't want any more for books we are excited about!
First Grade Fun Day - Wednesday, May 20
Parents Needed: Yes! We need parents to help organize, get food ready, and help clean up.
Things to Bring:
- Wear a bathing suit UNDER uniform with crocs or other water shoes.
- Students may wear their field trip shirt (or a uniform).
- Towel
- Dry uniform / shoes
- SLATHER on sunscreen before school
Time: 8:00 through lunch
Event: This is our end of the year grade level celebration. We being activities first thing in the morning. Lunch is pizza, fruit, ice cream, and snacks.
May Day Park / Memory Day - Thursday, May 21
Parents Needed: Helpful, but not necessary
Things to bring:
Event: We will walk to May Day Park and complete our culminating conservation activity as we clean up May Day Park. We will enjoy a morning cleaning and playing.
In class we will hand out some class awards, recognitions, and special keepsakes for the year.
Things to bring:
- Apply sunscreen in the morning at home
- Hat and/or sunglasses
- Yearbooks to be signed -- put your name in them!
- Backpacks! We will have items to bring home!
- A sack lunch
Time: We will leave around 8:30 and be back around noon.

Half Day - Friday, May 22
This is a half-day of school. We will just be cleaning up and relaxing. Car line and first bell dismissal starts at 11:40.
