The Cardinal Chirp
Felicity Elementary Newsletter for the week of 10/26/2020
Dear Cardinal Families,
It was great to welcome back so many students from online last week!
All students in grades K-3 (unless they just returned from online learning this past week) received a letter explaining that they are "on track" or "not on track" for reading based on the diagnostic test (Acadience) that was administered prior to September 30th. This test is a requirement for the "Third Grade Reading Guarantee." If your child is "not on track" at this time, we will be communicating our plan for providing additional reading support.
Just as a reminder, there is no school for students on October 30th or November 3rd.
As always, we appreciate your patience and support, especially during this time!
Have a great week!

3rd GRADE ELA TEST THIS WEEK, OCTOBER 27 & 28
As our students and educators work through the unique challenges of the 2020-2021 school year, a number of questions arise, especially concerning state testing. At this time, these tests are required by federal and state law and are still required for this school year.
The Grade 3 English Language Arts test, a two-part assessment, will be administered to third grade students on October 27 & 28 at Felicity-Franklin Elementary. Please be sure that your child is present on testing days and arrives on time. Each 3rd grade class will have a free breakfast together prior to the start of test on testing days. Please be sure that your child gets adequate sleep the night before testing.
We really appreciate your help!
Reminder: Students can dress up for Halloween on October 29th at Felicity Elementary!
